A Touch of Disney

After a year of being closed, Disney California Adventure reopened to guests for its brand new, limited-time, special-ticketed “A Touch of Disney” event and of course, I’m all in and excited!

$25 Dining Card

The pandemic has been hard and we’re all looking for something to help us through the last leg of this ordeal. Simply being inside a Disney theme park, you feel the magic!

Carthay Circle’s beautiful Pink Trumpet Trees are in full bloom and it is a delight to get to enjoy them again. But what about the food offerings? Here’s a look!

Vietnamese Twice-cooked Beef Tacos, Spring Rolls, Lemon Crusted Salmon, Strozzapreti Pasta

Foods Carthay Circle Restaurant serves small plates and advanced reservations is required to dine alfresco. The beef tacos and spring rolls are some of my favorites.

LA Style Pork Belly Banh Mi

Mandatory Mobile Order is in place, encouraging social distancing and reduced person-to-person contact.

Over Budget & 2319 (beverages), Lobster Nachos, Mini Burger Slider, Potato Skins

If you can get into Lamplight Lounge, Lobster Nachos await. This is a California Adventure classic item that’s high on my “must eat” list and deliciously filling.

Characters At Pacific Wharf, Goofy and Max looked for fish to reel up while near Ariel’s Undersea Adventure you can spot Mickey. Lightning McQueen and Mater are out near Radiator Springs Racers.

Fun While not exclusive for the event, these cute ears are made with purple sequins with a bow in the middle and there’s a variety, all ears are $29.99.

Disney PhotoPass photographers are back to work for this event and event guests receive unlimited Disney PhotoPass downloads with their admission.

A pretty cute photo op, exclusive for Legacy Passholders.

Is it worth going without the rides, entertainment or character interaction? What really matters is how the event ultimately makes you feel. If what you’re looking for is a mental break, a bit of that Disney magic, or an escape from the house you’ve been cooped up in for a year, then this event may absolutely be worth it for you, as it ended up being for me.
