“Of all the paths you take in life, make sure a few of them are dirt.”John Muir
Have you ever had a day wondering which path you should take? Welcome to Santiago Oaks Regional Park located in Orange, California with 30 marked trails of varying levels.
Hikers, bikers and equestrians share the interconnecting trails which leads you through shady groves, sun-exposed passes with interesting sandstone formations and rocky climbs offering spectacular views of northern Orange County.
Santiago Creek Trail heads across a creek crossing before reaching the “waterfalls”. An artist was busy capturing the cascading water scene with paint and brush as we admired the scenery.
An orange grove is located just to the right of the parking area. Amazingly, 5 acres of the original citrus grove planted in 1923 by the Windes’ still remains here.
There are trails I’ve yet to take and will return to wander where the next one takes me.
