Eat Streat is cool hot spot at the lake end of Tutanekai Street in Rotorua. Here you will find cafes and quality restaurants offering great options for those who can’t decide where to go or what to eat.
Atticus Finch is one of the 12 restaurants located at Eat Streat and our dining pick for tonight. The decor and casual patio setting of this open air eatery gives off a comfortable vibe where you don’t feel rushed.
Atticus Finch’s shared plate dining is great for trying out different dishes. Our server recommends order 2 or 3 items from the small share plates and the large share plates.
Shared plate dining, has become increasingly popular. “Small Plates” is a millennial’s term which elevates “family style”; a term from my generation.
Atticus Finch’s small plates can be defined as somewhere in between an appetizer and an entree. It’s not exactly the main course, but it also isn’t a starter meal.
The Mozzarella Balls small plate dish has a creamy risotto filling and a crunchy outer shell made fresh from the kitchen. The blue cheese creme compliments the flavors. The 3 of us would recommend this shared plate👍🏼.
Fried Squid (small share) was fresh and tasty over an interesting cabbage & kelp noodle salad.
A shared plate of braised eggplant with tofu and soba noodles is a vegetarians must have! The green bean, snow pea & edamame salad with a light sesame miso dressing made this dinner entree deliciously tasty.
Roasted Aubergine, another enjoyable small shared plate with a curried yoghurt, fried shallots, flaked almonds, pomegranate seeds and topped with 3 crispy thin poppadom.
Cauliflower, Coriander & Quinoa Fritters from the large share menu comes with a refreshingly light cauliflower, lentil, date & green olive salad sitting on top a layer of herbed coconut yoghurt. Another vegetarian dish everyone will enjoy.
My favorite shared plate, the roti (4 pc) filled with pulled pork, spring slaw and drizzled with sriracha mayo. I was only able to eat 1 roti after ordering 3 small bite dishes (which actually are “larger” bite USA servings 🤣)
Should you ever find yourself in North Island, Eat Streat in Rotorua is the spot to be for food as you check out menu board after menu board. There’s truly something for everyone here in this eclectic setting. Morgan, Dorie and I settled on Atticus Finch where we found the staff friendly, atmosphere relaxing and the food phenomenal.
