“Life is so unpredictable. Be grateful for every moment”
A helicopter crash, a wedding celebration and a personal reflection
My household was buzzing with the usual morning activities; a morning shower for Dorie, Mackie out walking our dog Mickey, Morgan’s razor was humming, my makeup sprawled in front of me and the sound of an electric toothbrush downstairs from Marshall. It’s Sunday and we have a wedding reception to attend in Rancho Palos Verdes.
As we toast and wish Stacey & Jonathan a bright future with all the blessings and joys in life, Marshall alerts us of a crash.
One name is uttered, “Kobe” and almost instantly, the world learned in disbelief the heartbreaking news; Kobe Bryant, 41 had died in a helicopter crash. Slowly, all 9 passengers were identified and revealed. Kobe’s admirers and fans mourned, and so did the family and friends of the Bryant’s, Altobelli’s, Zobayan’s, Mauser’s and Chester’s. Death is so unpredictable.
Today, I pause and reflect, realizing life is truly precious and so unpredictable. A year ago, Morgan couldn’t fight off his flu-like symptoms and the attending Urgent Care physician tells us to head straight to ER.
MRI, CT Scan, blood tests and X-rays ordered by the attending ER doc. Despite the diagnoses, Morgan continued to smile 😃
Neurosurgeon reviews and informs us of infectious fluid which could cause paralysis.
Perhaps days like today are necessary, teaching us a very important lesson about humility and how short life really is. Everything we do really counts.
Life is about enjoying all the good moments of our life, the little things, the time with our family and friends, a smile, a laugh, holidays, our work and to be grateful for all things that make us happy. ❤️
My deepest condolences to the families, each enduring such a loss from this tragic incident.
