“Laughter is timeless, imagination has no age, dreams are forever” — Walt Disney
Imagine being at The Happiest Place On Earth and walking to the front of every ride, taking photos and chatting with the characters without a crowd and dining at one of the busiest restaurants in the Magic Kingdom without a reservation!
Today was that day at both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure from opening until closing and my best day ever! No kidding and I have photos.
Walt Disney said, “Laughter is timeless,” and there’s something infectious about the little giggles and playful smiles of children. “Imagination has no age,” we tend to grow old when we stop playing and are no longer curious. And “dreams are forever”, there’s a childlike innocence in each of us which encourages us to desire, imagine and attempt our deepest longings.
My day with Max, Micah and little Riley taught me to be happy for no reason, busy myself with something and to know how to demand with all my might for what I desire. A child exists somewhere inside all of us, and where better than this happy place to experience all the joys and wonderment at any age.
The rides at any amusement park can add excitement to anyone’s day, whether you’re as young as my carousel partner Max; and Disneyland is definitely where the magic happens.
This truly was an all time record; 24 rides and a show. No lines, No waiting around! (even Smuggler’s Run 3 times in under an hour; however beware of getting vertigo)
The best day ever in the Magic Kingdom isn’t complete without character photos! 13 characters including my very first meeting with Bo Beep.
FOOD: Blue Bayou Restaurant overlooks the Pirates of the Caribbean ride and advanced reservations are usually highly recommended. On this best day ever we walked up and got seated in one of the prime viewing tables overlooking the riders cruising by with the shooting stars darting over our heads.
The staff are friendly and accommodating, as one would expect, however it’s all about the ambiance and experience while dining in Blue Bayou. It’s one everyone should experience once. Dinner prices are steep (lamb $44) and definitely recommend catching a bite to eat during the lunch hours. A favorite of mine is the Monte Cristo (which isn’t on the menu, yet a dish you can definitely order here). It’s a sweet and savory ham, turkey and swiss cheese sandwich with a sweet berry puree dusted with powdered sugar (great to share and it just might become your favorite too). A complimentary dessert, Mickey’s chocolate mousse added cheer to my perfect day.
Celebrities: You just never know who you’ll pass while enjoying your best day ever. Hand in hand, Macaulay Culkin and his girlfriend Brenda Song enjoy a perfect empty day at the park too. There were less crowds, making these two easy to spot! Despite, the Disney guide in plaid who blocked my path, I was able to snap this photo as I walked by and get a nod from Macaulay.
Best Day Ever, spent with this beautiful young couple and their 3 adorable children. We should all surround ourselves with people that reflect who we want to be and how we want to feel; and with the Burns, it’ll all about the wonders and new discoveries. The innocence and their youthful energy are contagious!
In a Galaxy Far, Far Away with Vi Moradi, Rey and Poe Dameron. The force was strong with these 3 as I chatted the evening away. I felt like I should be dressed differently as the Millennium Falcon loomed in the background.
I hope you enjoyed my magical day at this happy place. Just remember to laugh, dream and imagine, and I’m sure you’ll have your Best Day Ever!
